Conference Overview for the 15th International Conference on Hyaluronan.
The 2025 meeting of the International Society for Hyaluronan Sciences (ISHAS) will be held at the Q Center in St. Charles, Illinois, from June 8 to June 12, within walking distance of downtown St. Charles.

The city offers a Midwestern “small town feel”, with its range of historic buildings and shaded parks on the banks of the scenic Fox River, as well as a vibrant Main Street for shopping and dining.
Travel
O’Hare International Airport (40 miles from Q Center) has non-stop flights from 249 destinations and is the world’s most connected airport.
Midway Airport (45 miles from Q Center) is also available for domestic flights.
Transportation to and from the airports is through A1 Limousine and can be booked directly through their website (A1Limousine.com).
Event Site
The Q Center (qcenter.com) is a state-of-the art meeting venue that promotes scientific and social interaction of attendees by supporting all services in one location, reminiscent of the atmosphere at a Gordon conference! The Q Center room bookings include breakfast, and the conference registration fees will include lunch, break time refreshments, an opening night reception, and a special conference dinner featuring “A Taste of Chicago with Sights and Sounds”! For other dinners not covered in your registration, the onsite pizza restaurant/bar is available, or you can select from a variety of excellent dining options in downtown St. Charles. The Q Center provides a shuttle service to downtown.
Scientific Program
The exciting program begins on June 8 with the award of the Society’s coveted Rooster Prize, followed by an Opening Evening Mixer in the Q Center Courtyard. Two Keynote Presentations by Jason Burdick (University of Colorado) and Vera Gorbunova (University of Rochester) will feature their notable work in the field of hyaluronan research. Ten Scientific Sessions will cover topics ranging from hyaluronan metabolism and cell biology to the latest applications of hyaluronan in engineering and biotechnology. Poster Sessions will be open for viewing throughout the conference, with presenters available for discussions at specific times during the program. We also expect informative Exhibits by Our Industry Participants that will be in the poster and scientific presentations areas for easy access.
On June 11, following 3 days of intense science, a traditional Conference Dinner will be held in the Q Center Pavilion featuring stations serving a range of Chicago-famed, regionally sourced foods in the ambiance of visual and musical entertainment.
Event Registration
Registration opens December 1st. Individuals who are paid-up Members of ISHAS in both 2024 and 2025 will receive a $150.00 discount on their registration. There will also be a generous discount for Trainee Members. If you are not already a member of the Society, we invite you to apply now.

Oral Presentations
Abstracts selected for oral presentations will be included in one of 10 scheduled sessions during the meeting. Presenters are expected to be live on-site at the Q-Center in St. Charles, Illinois. Presentations are 10 minutes in length, followed by five minutes of Q&A. Presenters are required to disclose any potential conflicts at the beginning of their presentation.
Registration Notes
Trainees may pay dues for both 2024 and 2025 if they register before Wednesday, February 14, 2025, and will receive the discount for trainee members.
Please note: online applications will have to be made for ISHAS Trainee Membership by Saturday, December 31, 2024.
TRAVEL AWARDS
Up to six travel awards of $500.00 will be available.
