Below preprints suggest that heparin, but not chondroitin, binds to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. a GAG-binding motif (XBBXBX) is suggested and some modeling presented. This would suggest that interfering with GAG binding may influence virus binding and entry to the cell.
